Cataloging

What exactly is a core charge?

The core charge is a refundable fee that is charged on a part that can be remanufactured or recycled. Once the old part has been replaced, simply bring it back to your local store in the original packaging with the receipt and the core charge will be refunded to you.

I paid sales tax on a core, do I get that back?

According to state laws, sales tax must be computed on the total gross proceeds including the value of core. No refund of sales tax is permitted when the core is returned.

Can you tell me what part number fits?

If you are unable to find a part in electronic cataloging, only the parts professionals at our Auto Value and Bumper to Bumper Parts Stores will be able to tell you if a part fits and / or if it's in stock. Please contact your local store for part related and lookup information.

Why do I have to choose a store?

You do not have to select a preferred store to add a product from one of the catalogs to your shopping list. However if you want to check inventory on an item, you will have to select a store. Electronic Cataloging also returns store and warehouse inventory and therefore requires that you have a store selected. If a store is not selected, you will be interrupted briefly, to choose a store and may continue shopping the site.

How do I use the eCatalog?

We have a flash demonstration to show you how to use eCataloging. View the online demo.

Browser Questions

Why isn't the electronic cataloging working?

Cataloging drop downs are known to not be working on Firefox version 1, Older versions of Internet Explorer, Safari for Windows and Opera. The only solution is to upgrade your browser to Firefox 2, Internet Explorer 6 & 7, the newest version of Netscape or Google Chrome.

Why are the videos not playing?

The videos displayed on AutoParts2020 require a flash player be installed in your browser. To download the player visit www.adobe.com.

2-Day: this item is available to order and will take two business days for the store to receive it. Please call or email the store by 3:00pm to confirm and reserve your item so that it can be ordered from their local distributor.

What happens when I send my list to the store?

Rss Feeds / Subscriptions

What is an rss feed?

Feeds are a way for websites large and small to distribute their content well beyond just visitors using browsers. Feeds permit subscription to regular updates, delivered automatically via a web portal, news reader, or in some cases good old email. Feeds also make it possible for site content to be packaged into "widgets," "gadgets," mobile devices, and other bite-sized technologies that make it possible to display blogs, podcasts, and major news/sports/weather/whatever headlines just about anywhere.

Why should I subscribe?

By subscribing you will be the first to know about promotions, giveaways, product rebates and so much more.

How do I subscribe and read feeds?

If you want to browse and subscribe to feeds, you have many choices. Today, there are more than 2,000 different feed reading applications, also known as "news aggregators" (for text, mostly) or "podcatchers" (for podcasts). There are even readers that work exclusively on mobile devices.

Some require a small purchase price but are tops for ease-of-use and ship with dozens of feeds pre-loaded so you can explore the feed "universe" right away. Free readers are available as well; a search for "Feed reader" or "Feed aggregator" at popular search sites will yield many results. A handful of popular feed readers are listed at the bottom of this page.

A typical interface for a feed reader will display your feeds and the number of new (unread) entries within each of those feeds. You can also organize your feeds into categories and even clip and save your favorite entries (with certain applications).

If you prefer, you can use an online, web-based service to track and manage feeds. Online services give you the advantage of being able to access your feed updates anywhere you can find a web browser. Also, upgrades and new features are added automatically.
